Congrats Grads! San Diego Senior Portraits

Well, it's the last day of school around here.  Congrats to all the grads this year.  Here's a quick revisit of one of my favorite grads of 2011.  Good luck next year, Kayla!  Any upcoming seniors or teens interested in a summer session, make sure to give me a call... we've got a fun project planned!  Help me launch Project Personality!

Happy Memorial Day!

Every year some friends of ours throw a Memorial Day picnic.  It's come as you are, more is always merrier, and the only rule is that you have a great time.  Homemade water slides, great food, and loads of fun.  It's pretty much the quintessential Memorial Day bash.

Thank you to all the service men and women who have sacrificed to make our country great.  I am humbled by your bravery and willingness.  I hope on this day, we all took a moment to give thanks.

Little Bug

My youngest daughter graduated from Preschool yesterday.  Yes, I know, graduated is a loose term here.  Basically she's done.  Next year she will start a special transitional kindergarten pilot program here in my school district.   It hit me as I was dropping her off on her last day that it will be the last day of preschool EVER.  No more.  That's got to be some kind of milestone.

They had a sweet little program at her preschool and put on a play about bugs.  Vivie was so proud to have her big sister there watching her.  Today it's really hitting me just how big she's gotten.  This was my little preemie peanut that I thought would never grow and always be right by me.  Sometimes us mom's are guilty of looking too far ahead.  With so little time to ourselves, we always plan and dream for the day when our children get a little older and a little more independent.  We put things off today because we know in a few years they will be possible, but we still anxiously await for that time to come.  I'm just as guilty as an of us.  Now, with that time fast approaching, I just want to scream STOP!  Repeat!  I guess I'm finally old enough to realize that time really is precious.  That no matter how hard you try, you can't get your children to grow down.

I just want all us mommies to remember to not waste a day.  We can't get it back this time.  When your personal, financial and work related goals seem drift down to the never ending to do list somwhere between ironing, carpool, storytime and preschool graduation days, pick the graduation days and stories, they're worth it..... but the ironing probably isn't :-).

Diana & Frank Sneak Peek!

First couple on the new blog!  Yay!

This last weekend I had the great fortune of photographing Diana and Frank on their big day.  It was so gorgeous! I have tons more to show and share from the day, but for now here's a quick sneak peek.  Check back next week for all the details and catch a few more glimpses of this fabulous wedding.

This blog is officially up and going!  I'm so happy.  I feel like I've been working on it for about a year!  Oh, wait....

One reason it's taken me so long is because I woke up one day and realized I had FOUR blogs going! FOUR!  Then I tried to figure out why.   As much as I hate to admit it, the whole compartmentalization of every aspect was just not working.  I'm way too scattered for that.  Plus, I feel as though my work and my life, they really aren't separate.  I don't function that way.  So, I just decided they all needed to live in one place.  Here.  Yes, this is a photoblog.  It's also my life blog, my deliciousness blog and my blog of snark.  I hope that works for you.

Anything I would have posted on will be here, with ample labeling as to whether or not it's photography, crafty, kitchen related or just plain random.

I hope you enjoy my new labor of love!  I've got all kinds of spectacular things planned for the summer, including a 12 week/12 month revisit (my favorite 12 photoshoots from last year revisted and revamped,) the kickoff of my new Project Personality featuring high school seniors and teens AND a super sweet giveaway or two! Of course you'll always be able to see sneak peeks of the latest work here as well.

Make sure to follow the blog in order to see the latest right away, and don't forget to LIKE ME on facebook, it new blog posts will update there too!

Berry Picking Monster (image test)

Hooray!  The blog is almost done and ready for use!  I'm so excited.  If you come and visit in the next few days, you'll see a few tweaks going on here and there.  This is my first image post and I'm just making sure all that I've set up is doing what it's supposed to :-)

What better way to test than to share with you a picture of my Genenvieve, the berry picking monster?

She picked that whole bucket by herself, people.  And got really really REALLY dirty doing it.  This strawberry field is just about a mile in from the pacific ocean and you can catch a glimpse of the water here and there.

We are so lucky to live here, sometimes I have to pinch myself.
